Message from our YWD Co-Chairwomen
A learned man once said that you know the true value of a person when you meet their grandchildren.
As one of those privileged grandchildren, we have decided to assume the leadership role of The Young Women’s Division of The Guardians for 2010. We recognize that it is thanks to the residents of the Los Angeles Jewish Home that we are able to practice and live by Jewish morals and values.
2010 is going to be an exciting "Rebirth" year for The Young Women’s Division of The Guardians!
We spend the majority of our week as professionals, and look forward to dedicating our free time to building a strong sound Young Women's Division. Our vision for the upcoming year is to create a bond between/throughout the Young Jewish Women that enables us to assist in raising moneys and awareness for the organization and that prides itself on supporting our elders. We have set our primary goal to increasing our Membership by more than 50% in 2009.
Last year finished off with “The Ball” on December 24, where more than 750 young professionals celebrated and raised more than $8000 for the Jewish Home. Throughout the year, our Mixers have grown in size and are now known throughout the Los Angeles young Jewish social community as some of the best events of the year. This year’s events will include more "Shopping For A Cause", Bowling night, our Annual Summer Party, regular Mixers as well as our Member Only events!
The Young Women’s Division is about building friendships, enjoying unique experiences and raising money and awareness for an excellent charity, the LA Jewish Home for the Aging!
If you’d like to become involved or know a potential new member, please contact YWD Co-Chairwoman Kerri Marks!
